Barinutrics Calcium Chewy Bites are specifically formulated for weight loss surgery patients, containing 500 mg of calcium and 12.5 μg (500 IU) of vitamin D in a great tasting, chocolate-flavoured chew.
These chews contain calcium citrate, the preferred form of calcium for weight loss surgery patients, as it does not require stomach acid for absorption. It can be taken at any time of the day, with or without food, while other forms of calcium need to be taken with food for absorption. Calcium supports healthy bones, teeth and nervous system, as well as contributing to a range of other important body functions. Vitamin D3 is also added to the chews to support the absorption of calcium, as well as maintain a healthy vitamin D status and keeps bones strong.
The recommended dose is 1 – 2 chews daily, as advised by your dietitian.
